কৈলাশ নাথ শৰ্মা সোঁৱৰণী অখিল ভাৰতীয় সাহিত্য পৰিষদ, অসম সাহিত্য বঁটা ২০১২ চনৰ পৰা প্ৰবৰ্তন কৰি প্ৰতি দুবছৰৰ মূৰে মূৰে দি থকা হৈছে। কৈলাশ নাথ শৰ্মা একাধাৰে এগৰাকী কবি, গীতিকাৰ, কথা সাহিত্যিক আৰু সফল অনুবাদক। ৭খন কবিতা পুথি, ৭খন গীতিকাব্যৰ মাজত সহস্ৰাধিক গীতৰ স্ৰষ্টা, ৭খন উপন্যাসকে ধৰি ১১ খন অনুবাদ গ্ৰন্থ বিশেষকৈ বাল গংগাধৰ তিলকৰ শ্ৰীমদ্ভাগৱদগীতা ৰহস্য অথবা কৰ্মযোগ শাস্ত্ৰ, ভক্ত কবি জয়দেৱ গোস্বামীৰ গীত গোবিন্দম , স্বামী হৰ্ষানন্দৰ হিন্দু দেৱ-দেৱী আদিৰ দৰে ভাৰতীয় সংস্কৃতি আৰু ঐতিহ্যমূলক গ্ৰন্থকে ধৰি প্ৰকাশিত ২৫খন লগতে ভাৰতীয় সাহিত্যৰ আন কিছু অপ্ৰকাশিত গ্ৰন্থৰ প্ৰণেতা স্বৰ্গীয় শৰ্মা। তেখেত অসম চৰকাৰৰ এগৰাকী দক্ষ্য বিষয়া থকাৰ উপৰি নিভাজ অসমপ্ৰেমী আৰু ভাৰতীয় ঐতিহ্যপ্ৰেমী এগৰাকী বিশিষ্ট সামাজিক লোক আছিল।

The Kailash Nath Sarma Memorial Assam Literary Award was instituted in 2012 to commemorate the life and work of the late Kailash Nath Sarma, who was a literary personality of Assam, a poet, translator, essayist and song-maker of repute. He wrote numerous poems in Assamese, Bengali and English, which are collected into a compilation, ‘Kabya Kanon.‘ He is a translator of ‘Geeta Govinda’, a work by the 12th-century poet, Jayadeva, and ‘Shrimad Bhagavat Geeta’, the voluminous ‘Geeta Rahasya’ of Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak. He translated novels of well-known Bengali novelists, Narayan Sanyal, Jajabor, Samaresh Mazumdar and Hiren Chattopadhyay. He also translated the famous ‘Hitopadesha‘ and ‘Panchatantra‘ of Sanskrit literature. Among his creative writings numbering 27 books, 13 are translations. He was an established lyricist for All India Radio. He was a humanist and exponent of Assamese and Indian culture based on unity in diversity.
